At Equis Research we lean into the complexities of Latino voters in the United States, ensuring they get the sophistication of treatment and level of attention that matches their critical role in the electorate. We act as a public utility, using a diversity of tools (polling, qualitative insights, digital testing, voter data, and analytics, along with best practices from other sectors) to shape the decisions of the political and policy ecosystem. POSITION SUMMARY

Equis is seeking a Research Associate to support the work we do to identify and socialize best practices for Latino engagement. The Research Associate will have the opportunity to be a part of projects where we seek to answer questions like What is uniquely effective with Latinos? Where are the best places to find and reach Latino audiences? How should we be communicating in Spanish? With a focus on operational management, they will ultimately be responsible for the management of message testing programs and other related research, media, and digital efforts designed to help us answer these key questions. At Equis, our top priority is the well-being and power of the Latino community; the ideal candidate for this position would be invested in the same desired outcomes and impact for our research.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will: 

• Own project management on research programs including digital messaging tests, content production, focus groups, and surveys, among others
• Be responsible for managing and executing individual project timelines, helping the team schedule and run programs on time, maintaining a bird’s eye view of the team's goals and calendar
• Own day-to-day budget management, including keeping track of invoices and tracking budgets for projects
• Work with digital vendors, consultants, and freelance creatives 
• Serve as the primary point of contact for legal and operations teams, sending content, video, and scripts for approval to ensure compliance and adherence to legal requirements 
• Work closely with internal Equis  departments to help ensure projects are completed on time and effectively
• Brainstorm/suggest innovative tactics and strategies for engaging Latino audiences

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Impeccable project management and time management skills 
• Prior experience with research is not necessary, but experience with managing multiple projects at a time is required
• Ability to collaborate under pressure with a diverse and remote team 
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills 
• Self-starter and ability to work on several projects at once at varying stages of development
• Ability to work in a startup environment that is highly collaborative 
• Passion for Latino communities, and the issues that most affect us 
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus; cultural fluency is required 
• Experience working with political campaigns or organizations is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Equis is a national remote office environment with team members located across all continental U.S. time zones. Candidates should be prepared to either work from home or at a location of their choosing that is located within the continental United States.  

This position requires the ability to work core hours Monday through Friday in your local time. This position may require occasional night work and some in-person attendance for all-staff or department-level events, approximately 2 per year, which require overnight travel. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a fully remote (USA only), full-time position, with a competitive salary range of $75,000-$90,000 p/year. This salary range represents a good-faith estimate of what Equis may pay for this position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as budget availability and commensurate with the selected candidates’ experience.
