Equis was founded in 2019 to create a better understanding of the Latino electorate, invest in new and innovative approaches to reach and engage them, and uplift the Latino leaders of tomorrow who will implement and carry forward this important work.

Equis has developed ten “moonshot” campaigns to tackle this from political, media, and cultural perspectives. Our “moonshots” provide new thinking and leadership. A 5-10 year program, the moonshots seed, build, and scale efforts that fill gaps in our political and cultural infrastructure. The goal? To have Latinos participate to their potential, embracing progressive politics and culture. 

The scope of our work is purposefully broad and designed to engage Latinos in multiple arenas because we believe that this moment requires a complete re-thinking of how we engage Latinos. Our approach is to work collaboratively with partners and allies, lead with learning and research, and build programs that address the deep-rooted issues that prevent our community from participating becoming influential and powerful.

POSITION SUMMARY

Equis is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Project Director, Search adept at managing a team of ads strategists and directing large digital advertising portfolios. The Search Director will build the plans, workflows, and reporting structures to support a large, innovative Spanish and English language focused program across multi-platforms and political, cultural, and social industries. SEO is a major focus of the project, but an ideal candidate is also experienced in audience development and strategic communications within a digital advertising context. The Search Director will be part of our larger “moonshot” strategy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and oversee the development and implementation of workflow to support launch, execution and management of large ads portfolio, including trafficking, reporting and optimization
  • Direct strategy and communication efforts on Search project, including project plans, individual media plans, and internal and external project management. 
  • For significant projects in the portfolio, plan and run digital ads campaigns, including budget campaigns, conceptualize creative, write strong content, lead designers on creative, optimize for conversions, and implement and test ad campaigns on platforms,
  • Contribute to strategy for larger Moonshot initiative and Equis organization, collaborating with digital and research teams to align work, integrate Search project with larger mission and objectives, and stay up to date on relevant industry trends and research 
  • Manage team of ads strategists, responsible for their growth and success. This includes hiring, check-ins, performance reviews, onboarding, training, and professional development for your team.
  • Analyze and report back campaign metrics effectively and with an eye towards learning, working to help inform strategy, messaging, and targeting. Produce case studies and conduct experiments as appropriate and needed. 
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, partners, and platforms. Oversee relationships to ensure campaigns are delivered according to agreed upon specifications, and act as liaison to vendors and platforms within the larger organization and on behalf of our partners, as appropriate. 
  • Identify and implement innovation and efficiency opportunities to further enhance project and organizational goals and maximize portfolio impact. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of experience in digital advertising. The ideal candidate probably has between 7-10 years experience, but program experience is more important than years of experience for this position. 
  • A commitment to building Latinx political power, progressive politics, and anti-racism
  • Significant experience managing performance marketing, awareness, and persuasion campaigns in Spanish and English. Experience in political advertising is highly encouraged, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a must. Fluency is desired but not required. 
  • Proven success as a manager and/or Senior Strategist or equivalent experience.
  • Strong familiarity with Google Ads, Facebook ads, DSP software, and first-party ad serving
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability and inclination to make tough judgment calls on day-to-day tactical and big-picture strategic questions
  • Ability to incorporate and own feedback from colleagues
  • A commitment to progressive politics and social change
  • Experience in excel or Google Sheets, report template design and other data visualization tools
  • Great all-around communication skills, including strong copywriting skills and the ability to effectively communicate best practices, strategies, plans and goals to clients and staff
  • Expert attention to detail and organization while managing tight deadlines and multiple projects
  •  Comfortable managing multiple campaigns from start to finish

EMPLOYEE STATUS Full-Time

SALARY AND BENEFITS
The salary expectation for this particular position is $90,000-$110,000, dependent on relevant experience and location. Equis offers medical, dental, vision coverage at no premium, 4% employer match 401K, and excellent vacation, sick and personal leave.
