LATINO POLITICAL INNOVATION ZONES DATA MANAGER (Contract/Remote)
Equis is working to: create a better understanding of Latino communities, invest in innovative approaches to reach and engage them, and uplift the Latinx leaders of tomorrow who will implement and carry forward this important work. Since 2019, we have served as a hub of Latino polling, qualitative insights, and data, with analysis based on over 40,000 interviews, focus groups, online journals, ethnographies, and vote simulations. Equis is a leader in digital innovation, focused on message testing and experiments, anti-disinformation tracking, and digital capacity-building for grassroots groups. Equis is also committed to developing Latino leaders across the progressive space, serving as a convener of organizations and individuals leading Latinx-focused programs.
Heading into the 2022 cycle, Equis is building a project called the Latino Political Innovation Zones to test whether a directed investment to increase engagement and attention to Latino voters can significantly increase Latino turnout in small to mid-sized, high-density, low-participation Latinx communities. After a rigorous data-driven process, three geographic zones have been identified as “underperforming” areas. Equis intends to measure two key outcomes during the 2022 midterm elections: (1) Latino turnout, measured as the percentage of Latino voters who participate in the election out of the total number of voting-age Latinos; and (2) performance of Democratic candidates, measured as the vote share of Democrats in each local race. Through rigorous testing, on the ground partnerships, and scale, Equis seeks to establish best practices to win the Latino vote.
Reporting to the Latino Political Innovation Zones National Campaign Director, Equis is seeking a Latino Political Innovation Zones Data Manager to manage technology, tools, and data systems to meet programmatic goals and help build Latinx political power through targeted political programs in Latino-dense counties in and around Fresno, California, Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Midland and Odessa, Texas for the 2022 elections. The Data Manager will work closely with local partner organizations and organizers, Equis’ national database and targeting team, and other field staff.
This position is a seasonal role based on a cycle that will conclude on December 31, 2022.
