Stephanie Valencia is a national leader and innovator at the nexus of politics, technology, and leadership development. She is the co-founder of Equis, a set of organizations working to create a better understanding of Latino voters and investing in new approaches to reach and engage them while building the infrastructure and leadership bench to advance this important work.

She has spent her career working in Congress, the White House, Google, and advised entrepreneurs like Reid Hoffman and Penny Pritzker.

She serves on the boards of Planned Parenthood for America Action, Community Change Action, and is a founding member of Poderistas, with Eva Longoria & America Ferrera.

Carlos oversees the research and overall strategy for Equis.‍

Previously, Carlos an advisor to progressive funders on strategies around civic engagement, advocacy and politics. For more than five years, he acted as Executive Director for the Florida Alliance, a state donor collaborative that fund campaigns for democracy reform, civic participation, and legislative accountability, among others.

Formerly, he was Director of Special Projects for New Organizing Institute, leading experiments on candidate recruitment and online campaign training. He was a member of the DNC Platform Drafting Committee in 2012.

Carlos served in the White House Office of Political Affairs, acting as a liaison for Latino leaders and an advisor on political issues in the southern and western regions, after working as Deputy Latino Vote Director for the 2008 presidential campaign.

Before joining the campaign, he managed communications for AlleyCorp, a group of New York-based internet start-ups that included Business Insider and Gilt Groupe, and GALA, an arts non-profit in DC.

At American University, he majored in Spanish studies, focusing on Latin American literature. Carlos is from Miami, FL and currently resides in West New York, NJ with his wife and two daughters.

Nick Ahamed joins Equis as Managing Director, bringing more than a decade of experience leading high‑impact teams at the intersection of progressive politics, strategy, and data. Most recently, he served as Deputy Executive Director at Priorities USA, where he oversaw analytics, research and political partnerships, supported organizational strategy, and managed large interdisciplinary teams and multi‑million‑dollar budgets.

Nick has a strong track record of mentoring diverse teams, forging strategic partnerships, and developing innovative tools used across the digital movement. A Gates Cambridge Scholar with an MPhil from the University of Cambridge and an Honors BA from Stanford University, his academic research examined voter access, Islamophobia, and mixed‑race politics. Nick is deeply committed to building power in communities of color and translating that into electoral impact.

Latino State of Play: 2025 Elections and New Equis Polling

Survey conducted 10/15 – 10/29 via phones and text-to-web with 2000 registered voters who identify as Hispanic or Latino nationally. The sample included an oversample in the following pooled competitive congressional districts (all 10%+ Latino CVAP): CA-03, CA-09, CA-13, CA-22, CA-27, CA-40, CA-41, CA-45, CA-47, AZ- 01, AZ-06, NV-03, NM-02, CO-08, TX-28, TX-34, TX-35, TX-15, NJ-07, NJ-09, NY-03, NY-04, NY-17, PA-07, PA-08. The national sample was weighted to match the composition of registered voters modeled as Latino by state, gender, age, education, and 2024 vote recall. The sample was also weighted by age, education, 2024 vote recall by gender, and geography, to match the composition of registered voters modeled as Latino in each state with a sample size of 175+ (CA, FL, TX), in the Mid-Atlantic region (DE, MD, PA, NJ, and NY) and the Southwest region (AZ, CO, NM, and NV). Language of interview, place of origin, education and other variables were monitored during the fielding. The survey was conducted in English and Spanish, according to the respondent’s preference. MoE is ~2.0 % for the full sample, ~6.0% for FL, the Mid-Atlantic, and Southwest, ~5.0% for TX, and ~4.0% for CA.

Memo: Latino Voters in Arizona September 2025

This memo summarizes key findings from a statewide poll of 600 registered Latino voters in Arizona, conducted September 18-23, 2025. The poll has a margin of error of ± 4.0 pp. This research was conducted by Equis Research in partnership with Progress Arizona and the Copper State Research Consortium. Arizona has approximately 1.3 million eligible Latino voters — 25% of the state’s potential electorate — positioning Latino voters to once again play a decisive role in Arizona elections. This poll explores how Arizona's Latino voters are evaluating the current political landscape, including the state's gubernatorial race, economic priorities, immigration enforcement, and views on Trump's presidency.

2025 Immigration Message Test

Methodology: We tested 7 immigration messages with Swayable using randomized controlled trial (RCT) survey experiments to see which was best at shifting Trump approval. These messages were tested in English and Spanish. The tests ran from July 3 to July 9 nationally. We collected a total of 16,580 responses, with 11,852 English responses and 4,728 Spanish responses.
